Frequently Asked
Questions:
How long
has Inition been in business?
Inition was founded in 2001 by four friends who had previously worked
together in the 3D graphics industry. Three of the founders (Andy
Millns, James
Gant and Stuart
Cupit) still run the office in London, while the fourth, Chris
Sutton, left in 2005 to open our Australian
office in Melbourne. We have grown consistently each year and
are now in our fourth London location, where we have been since
2004. An important part of these premises is our demo
studio which allows customers to experience our technology first-hand.
We now have a large dedicated area for this.
What is your company ethos?
We founded Inition with no pre-conceived ideas of how a company should
be run. This has resulted in a company that looks very progressive to
outsiders but to us is simply the result of building up an enjoyable and
open place to work. This openness relates well to our staff and clients:
clients
are spared the hard sell and get an honest opinion about our range of
products and feasibility
of their projects, while our staff
get an open, relaxed, and flexible place to work, full of opportunities
and also, importantly to us, a direct financial share in the company's
success.
The main driving force behind the company is one of seeking out
innovation and pushing the boundaries of what is achievable with
today's technology. We are always on the lookout for the next breakthrough
technology; this is something that everyone at Inition has a passion
for. We are constantly evaluating new technologies and, when ready,
making them available to our clients. In all of our business processes
and admin we aim to make use of these latest technologies and have
achieved an almost entirely paperless office; this is part of our
drive to be as environmentally friendly as possible.

We make time once a week for a meal
out with the whole company, and a few days each year are set aside for
our annual trip. These traditions started when we were a very small company
of four people, but continue to be an important part of making the company
an enjoyable, flexible place to work.

Who are
your clients?
Because our company specialises in 3D, rather than on one particular market,
we have a wide range of clients. These range from University research
labs to exhibition designers, architects to event producers, chemists
to product designers. For a list of some of our current clients please
Do you ship products overseas?
Yes, all the time. We supply 3D hardware to customers all over the world.
We have also worked on many projects outside the UK. Our Australian office
serves the Asia Pacific region and we have partners in several other countries.
Do you provide training?
Yes; we offer a range of bespoke training for the products
we sell. We can also provide training in more general areas such as 3D
Film Production.
I found your product or service cheaper from another supplier. Can you
match it?
Whilst we strive to keep our prices as low as possible, we are not simply
a box shifter when it comes to selling hardware. Rather than 'sales' people
we have a team of highly knowledgeable end-users of all the products we
sell who can give customers unparallelled advice on choosing the right
product. This knowledge allows us to give unrivalled pre- and after- sales
support. All this, coupled with our independence from any one supplier
and our central-London demo studio, we think, makes us unbeatable in terms
of value for money and service.
Will you loan me X product so than I can
test before I place an order?
Whilst we would love to be able to do this our main priority is to keep
all the equipment available in our demo studio so that as many clients
can view as possible. We can arrange loans in certain circumstances though.
Can you send me a brochure or catalogue?
With the goal of providing as up to-date information as possible and minimising
waste, we provide a comprehensive range of literature in electronic format
on our website and tend not to distribute hard copies.
How can I pay?
We prefer payment by bank transfer or credit card. For detailed information
on payment options please click here.
Why don't you have e-commerce on your website?
We are considering carefully how this will best work with the range of
the products and services we provide. We don't expect anyone interested
in a £100,000 motion capture system to be clicking on the 'add to
shopping basket' button!
What are your opening hours?
Our London
office is open from 9:30am until at least 6pm, but often much later,
Monday to Friday. We are closed on Friday lunchtime. Our Asia-Pacific
office is open Monday to Friday, 9:30pm to 5:30pm.
How do I arrange a demo?
Demos are by appointment only. Please contact either our UK
or our Asia
Pacific office to book a date.
I am interested in representing your products and services in my country;
can I become a reseller?
We engage with carefully selected partner companies in overseas markets.
Please contact us if you are interested in representing any of our range
of products or services in your country.
How can I project a holographic image in
thin air like Princess Leia in Star Wars?
It's getting
closer, but we're still working on it...
